Donate to fhn

Please become a supporter and join the fhn family!

You have the power to improve the health and living conditions for thousands of people in Ghana and Ecuador.

We are extremely careful in how we allocate funds to the projects we're involved with and demand full accountability for every pound, cedi and dollar spent. Like all well-run organizations, we need to cover our day-to-day running costs in the countries where our health projects are based, on equipment, pharmaceutical drugs, training and salaries for example. We also need to fund projects that help to meet the long-term sustainable goals on which fhn is founded - health promotion, hygiene, education amongst others.

All those located in the fhn support countries where fundraising and strategy take place do not draw salaries and give their time to fhn on a voluntary basis. We also do not charge any project volunteers (doctors, midwives, project leaders etc) any 'administrative' fee. In that way 100% of financial support goes directly to our projects - this makes fhn very unusual and why we believe it is such a special organization.

We rely on supporters for our financial backing, working on a system of monthly donations via Standing Order. This stability improves our ability to plan and budget. If you would like to become a supporter, please:

To give you an idea of what benefits your financial support could bring to our Ghana and Ecuador projects:

£ 15 a month will pay a full month’s salary for 10 health promoters to go out into the rural communities and educate thenabout basic health issues.

£ 20 a month will pay for one month's dental materials in our Ecuador health centre

£ 40 a month will pay one month's salary for our midwife's assistant, delivering healthy babies in the communities of Ghana.

£ 92 a month will pay the health centre in Ghana's medical expenses and drugs for the whole community for a full week.

£ 150 a month pays all the running costs of our office in Quito, Ecuador.

£ 200 a month would pay the salary of a community nurse in Ghana to travel to local communities and provide basic healthcare (such as vaccinations and check-ups etc) to those who cannot reach the health centre.

If you're considering a one-off donation:

£ 300 would purchase a bore-hole for a community in Ghana, enabling them to have clean drinking water.

£ 1000 would pay for the training of a teacher in Ghana, who could setup a kindergarden school at the health centre and offer a basic education to the local children.

£ 3000 would buy a mosquito net for every household in the local Ghana communities that needed one

£ 5000 would pay for fhn to repair the accomodation at the health centre in Ghana
