fhn is a UK Registered Charity
number 1 09 59 52

What makes fhn unique?

Whilst there are many small NGOs running focused projects all over the world, fhn is unique for the following reasons:

  • The UK charity base has no administration or running costs. This means that every penny that is raised goes directly to the projects in Ecuador and Ghana.
  • There are no volunteer fees. fhn believes strongly that those who assist with the projects should not be charged for their contribution.

The success and stability of fhn relies upon the hard work of all those involved in the charity: the trustees, the project co-ordinators and the monthly donors, all of whom devote a great deal of time and financial resources to the projects.

The result of the trustees, the project co-ordinators and local community working so closely together is that decisions which are made on the use of the limited resources are based purely upon what would be most beneficial to the communities within which fhn works.  The intention is that the funding process from fundraising through to the application of funds should be transparent. fhn is entirely reliant upon the generosity of its supporters and monthly donors and aims to involve them as closely as possible in the work that it does. We have no funding ties that would compromise our integrity.

fhn currently has two projects; one in South America and one in West Africa.
